The 2008 Southern Building Show will be taking place on Wednesday, June 11 through Friday, June 13 at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta. More than 7,000 builders, remodelers and homeowners will be treated to the best that more than 350 exhibitors of building products and services have to offer.

Greater Atlanta Home Builder Association Appoints Mitch Hires to its Executive Committee
Mitch Hires, Co-owner of Construction Resources, Inc., has been appointed to the 2008 Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (HBA) Executive Committee.
The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (HBA) is a not-for-profit professional trade association dedicated to promoting, protecting and preserving the homebuilding industry as a viable economic force in the Atlanta area.
The HBA was founded in 1945 by a group of builders looking for an organization to serve their interests and needs within the homebuilding industry. In 1989, the association changed its name from the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Atlanta to the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association. The new name reflected the association’s increasing membership and changing climate of the local homebuilding industry.
Construction Resources, Inc. and Cambria Participate in the 2008 Atlanta Home Show
Construction Resources and Cambria participated in the 30th annual Spring Home Show on Friday, March 13 – Sunday, March16, 2008. Friday night, downtown Atlanta experienced a severe storm which caused organizers to cancel the remaining home show dates.
The Home Show took place at the Georgia World Congress Center which was closed after severe weather damaged the building. Construction Resources and Cambria shared booth #936 which experienced no damage.
Organizers finally reopened the Georgia World Congress Center on Tuesday, March 18 to allow vendors to dismantle their displays. Organizers are attempting to reschedule the home show at a later date. Check back for updates.
Construction Resources, Inc. Expands
Decatur, GA Showroom
Construction Resources, Inc. has begun demolition of existing office space to increase the size of its Decatur, GA Showroom. New fireplace and garage door displays will be added as well as NEW operational kitchen and bath displays.
Completion of the expansion is scheduled for June 1, 2008. Check back later for updates.

Construction Resources Renovations, a new division under the Construction Resources, Inc. umbrella of companies, is a new organization that specializes in kitchen and bath remodeling.
Dave Ferguson, a graduate of Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction, will oversee operations of CRR and brings with him over 25 years experience in the industry.
In addition to kitchen and bath remodeling, CRR offers others building and remodeling services such as tile work, plumbing, lighting, cabinets, framing, doors and trim, sheetrock, painting, hardwood floors, carpet and more!
With a lifetime of experience in the building/remodel industry, Dave is very excited about the opportunity to share his experience with CRR. Welcome to CRR Dave!

Construction Resources, Inc., majority owned by Mitchel A. Hires and Fred “Sonny” Hires Jr., is a new company formed to merge several local companies including Atlanta Marble Mfg., Atlanta Kitchen, Atlanta Glass and Mirror, Atlanta Garage Doors and Fireplaces, International Bath Corporation, and National Stoneworks under one operating umbrella company. The merging of these 6 divisions will improve customer service and streamline operations.
Furthermore, out-of-state divisions including Florida Bath and Surfaces, Florida Glass and Mirror, and Innovative Surfaces located in multiple locations in Florida and Alabama will also merge under the Construction Resources, Inc. name. Additional owners include Joseph Horne of Atlanta, GA., Robert Schoen of Santa Rosa Beach, FLA., and Terry Van Doren of Birmingham, AL.
The company has acquired a 42,000 SF building in Decatur, Ga. which will serve as the company’s corporate headquarters. Renovations are underway and should be completed by May of 2007.
